If you have authority to the file you should be able to delete it via an FTP session. One possibility, though, is that you may have security software installed on the AS/400 FTP server exit point that prevents you from deleting the file. Our security software, for example, lets the system administrator remove any delete capability on a user-by-user basis, or for all FTP connections to the AS/400. You might have the ability to delete the file when signed on to a terminal session, but not via FTP. Hope this helps.
