Carl, Nearly all of our users use the same workstation ID every time they log on. The M36 takes over every workstation here at startup so that most users don't even know that they are working into an AS/400. Only users using Client Access work into the AS/400. I don't even know if the problem is being caused in the 36 or on the AS/400.... Thanks Keith. -----Original Message----- From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com [SMTP:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com] Sent: 18 January 2000 14:12 To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: RE: M36 on AS/400 Keith: That is strange. I've been running 2 M36 machines on an AS400 for three years and never came across the problem you mentioned. Question: Are your users assigned a workstation number or do they use Passthru? I've had numerous problems related to users whose display station ID was changing from one session to another. Carl H. Just this morning on our 36 there is an intermittent problem with building indexs on files on the 36. Some people can do it but others can not and then ten minutes later it is reversed. It doesn't seem to effect some people at all. Does anyone know why this is?
