And don't forget to start it.  Depending on your level of 
OS you may have to start it manually every time you IPL.  
After awhile IBM fixed it.  

There are api's into this.  I don't think they are generally 
published though.  It involves calling programs and passing 
long hex codes as parameters. I was up in Rochester and a 
young female actually used these in front of me because they 
were faster than the GUI method of OpNav.  She'd just retype 
the hex codes.

Try systemname -> Network -> Servers -> Shared objects. Right-click on
Shared objects, select New -> File and fill in the info.
