Next question.   I want some directories to translate from ASCII to EBCIDIC.    Other directories to not do that.    The default is no conversion.    JDE OneWorld writes EBCDIC text files to the IFS.  I want to view them with a PC.    Using the regular client access, you could specify certain extensions (like ".log") to be translated in the Client Access setup.

How do I make a share automatically translate?

I believe you can share any IFS directories you want, just specify them via
ops nav.
