Last SRC before 'B' is shown on LCD is start of controlling subsystem.
So if you see signon screen 15 mins later, then so long it takes to start
subsystem, which allocates display devices.
It should not be so long. I would suggest to check memory pool
configuration. Pool configuration could be reset during upgrade.
If system is thrashing, it would explain the delay.
You may check history log, especially after message 'Subsystem QCTL
started' - or whatever controlling subsystem is - and look at timing of
mesages there.

Subject: Version 4.4 IPL steps

Ever since we upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4 the final step of our IPL takes
15-20 minutes. By final step I mean the LCD display on the processor
changes to the "B" indicator and then it's 15-20 minutes before I see a
signon screen. under 4.3 that was never longer than about 2-3 minutes.
Does anyone know what might be going on after the SRC D900xxx changes to
"B" status ?
