Dunno if it will help, but you might try this:
WRKCFGSTS *DEV dev_name
is there a job running attached to that device? If so, end it
vary off the device, then vary it back on

Subject: Client Access Session does not start.

Folks:

I have a problem with Client Access (SF59075 applied) in Win98 with
TCP/IP. This was working just fine till yesterday. The emulator 5250
session hangs with that dang 657 in the status bar. The AS/400 on V3R2
with latest cum ptf never gets the request because I checked Netstat
option 3 for telnet in my pc's remote address. I have checked the host
servers, QUSER password etc. I can get shared folders, client access
data transfers etc but no emulator session. The connection is ok and
verify connection returns no errors or warnings. I have tried creating
a new session with no name and no go. Job QTGTELNETS has no strange
messages. Netstat does show me as-cent (port 8470) and as-file (port
8473). I uninstalled SF59075 with no difference. I ipled the AS400
with no success. I ran a trace on the pc and the trace shows a socket
error. Following is from trace log.

[7] 01/04 22:14:17.61,(0055) len=79, 5250 Emulator.Communication
data.0001, FFC67CEB:FFC6A057
             Server Host Name: AS400

[8] 01/04 22:14:21.47,(0056) len=18, 5250 Emulator.Communication
data.0001, FFC67CEB:FFC6A057
             SOCKET ERROR: sock_error()=11001

What the heck is it? How do I fix it? This thing does not use WSOCK32
. right?? I am now very close to thinking of uninstalling the entire
product and reinstalling but if there is a better way to keep the little
hair I have left... Thanks for any ideas.
