I think that advertising practice/methodology has been around for a few years in the UK. A chap named Malcom Hanes was responsible for the idea style and implementation. Good news is he has been in the US at AS400 division HQ for a while now.

Perhaps we will see more of his inventive advertisements in the USA soon
