Re[2]: Y2K Group PTF Potential Problem

     he he he! I got pretty steamed yesterday when our Y2K coordinator 
     applied the Windows 95 Y2K patches. Couldn't get the PC to shutdown or 
     reboot, then once we killed the machine, couldn't get it to boot 
     without locking up. It felt like Microsoft's answer to keeping your PC 
     from crashing in 2000 is to make sure it hard crashes today. :(
     
     Finally managed to get it running, though all of my network passwords 
     got wiped somehow. With "productivity" features like this, it's 
     amazing I ever get any work done..... <g>

To muddy the waters even further.  Last week I put the Y2K group PTF on 2 AS/400
running
V4R3, and one asked for the second volume, and the other did not.  They were bot
at the
same CUM level.  So, as I read all these stories I have one explanation "Go Figu
?"
     
Soap-box *ON
    The best things about an AS/400 is that we are carrying on a conversation 
    about
whether or not we are asked about a 2nd CD, when the rest of the computer 
industryhas
much bigger issues.
     
    I read a good quote last week, that said with the Advent of quicker and 
    quicker PCs,
all it means is that your machines running Windows will crash quicker.  Soon, we
ill get
to the point where they will crash before they IPL.  :)
