I can't help you with the green bar background, but for screen captures
(this assumes you're using some form of emulation on a PC) you can copy the
screen image to the clip board and paste it into your document. Create a
style that includes a fixed pitch font like Courier New and a border.
Creating the style should take under 5 minutes. Select the screen stuff
you've pasted in and apply the style to it. Personally, I prefer bitmaps,
but my boss likes the text screens because they're easy to edit.

As far as a "nice" border is concerned, you can do rounded corners and vary
the width. Word isn't wonderful, but it does give you a little flexibility
in this area.

Making report columns line up requires using a fixed pitch font or putting
the report into a table.
If you have Client Access, you might consider copying the spool file to a
data base file, importing the file into Excel using the wizard, and pasting
it into Word from there.

Subject: how to document AS/400 reports using Microsoft Word

Does anyone have styles built or ideas how to grab AS/400 screens and
reports and make them look good in MS Word?
I know how to copy a spool file to Word; I am looking for styles or
something that will make them look like greenbar background reports. For
screens, how to make them look like screens with a nice border.
I would the following requirements to be met:
1) How can I make any font fixed pitch so AS/400 reports and screen
columns line up vertically?
2) How can I make a greenbar background without a bitmapped image.
3) How can I make a nice border to look like a screen (not bit mapped).

4) Any other ideas for creating AS/400 software documentation.
