Solution:
Subtract a known date in the past from your date. Divide by 7. Use the remainder to position into a 7 element table of days.
For example, 1/1/99 was a friday. If you want to know what day 1/1/2000,
1/1/99 SUBDUR 1/1/2000 daycount:*days
daycount DIV 7
MVR remainder
add 1 remainder
use remainder to point into 7 element table
