We just went to V4R3 and are getting the cleaning messages for our 3590 drives.
The only PTF's I can find that address this are 1998 PTF's that are already
applied.

What PTF did you apply to solve this problem?

Jessica,

We have found that if you are at V4R3, you may get a message indicating that
your tape drive needs to be cleaned. We downloaded a PTF from IBM that took
care of the problem. Don't know if you are at V4R3 or not, but if you are, you
might want to look into this.

I have a tape drive (13 GB) on my 170 that seems to constantly need to be
cleaned
(every few days). It's only 2 months old and I am going through cleaning tapes
like crazy. Is this normal for higher storage drives?

Thanks,

Jessica
