No jim, I even tried giving the IP address instead of the system name but
still I get the same error.
I was able to connect to 2001 http server port and even the default Welcome
page on the As/400 by just giving the IP address or name with out any port
numbers , but not to this 9090 since I upgraded to V4R4M0.
As I told earlier in my previous mail I even loaded the PTF's ::- SF99026 &
SF99027.
Help.

It sounds to me like that page you are seeing is being
produced by your web browser, not by the WebSphere
Server. The very last lines of the message are:
Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer
Are you entering the address as the IP address or the
DNS name?
If you are doing something like: http://myas400.mocomp.com:9090
try using the IP instead. http://192.168.1.1:9090 just use your IP
in place of the 192.168.1.1
