Booth,
I am not sure of releases, but I think V4R2 gets you most of the way there. V4R3
I am doing file serving using NetServer, which I believe is in the OS/400 base.
I
have to start the server with a documented call to an API, but in V4R4 OpsNav
can
be used. we use Telnet, just have to start the telnet server. I use it from NT
workstations, because the users do not have emulation, sine they are CS
applications. FTP, same thing. I use it to move data between AS/400s and PCs
oth.
Need to remember the gotchas on ASCII vs EBCIDIC when going to PCs, and noving
save files via PCs requires using a TYPE of Binary. HTTP - I haven't got a
change
to use it on the 400, but it is there.

e-mail is handled by Notes, but there is SMTP support built in also. I think it
is in the base.
