        AT&T has been doing that very thing here in California for over a
year.
        They will send you a real check in the amount of $50.00.  If you
endorse the
        check and cash it, you have authorized them to take over your local
long
        distance calls from Pacific Bell!!!  I have seen three of these in
the last
        year!!!

        What a rotten way to do biz!
