S36 to AS400 migration is fairly straight-forward, but be aware that S36 on the AS400 involves an emulation environment. Changes to RPGII code is minimal in most cases. I've ported a number of S36 apps to AS400, and each one presented it's own challenge. If you're intending to just migrate to the S36e, it should be fairly easy. If you're interested in making these native apps, forget it. Take some design specs and start over. eric.delong@pmsi-services.com ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Move S/36 to AS/400 Author: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > at INET_WACO Date: 6/29/99 7:48 PM Can anyone tell me what is involved in converting an application that runs in the System/36 on AS/400 application to a regular AS/400 application? Not to make it take advantage of the extra advantages of AS/400 but just to run. Is this dead simple, or extremely complicated or something in between? What would some of the issues be?
