Karl,

You can use the rcmd FTP subcommand to run the file build and report
print functions all in the same session:

    open x.x.x.x   /* connect to the AS/400 */
    user username
    pass password
    quote rcmd crtpf qgpl/myfile rcdlen(132) /* create the file */
    quote rcmd call mylib/mypgm /* print a report and copy to file */
    get mylib/myfile c:\mydir\myfile.txt
    quit

Of course, you could probably put all of the logic in one CL program and
just call it, then pick up the file with the get statement....
