What you say Nina seems normal and makes sense to me. What does burn me are the people that will not do anything on their own time when they are in the learning curve. Too many times I've seen the person refuse night classes unless paid, refuse to read magazines unless paid, refuse user group meetings unless paid. But when it comes time for reviews and pay adjustments they are right there explaining about what others with equal years of experience are being paid. If you mention how the others have worked their butts off to learn, you get this vacant look. Sometimes I will point out that seven years of experience is a lot different than one year of experince seven times.
