Hello Patrick,

I'll look for the RFC but how would simply assigning an IP address help?  You'd 
certainly need 
to assign an IP address but you'd still need the various daemons started.  You 
couldn't TELNET 
to the AS/400 without the TELNET daemon running and how would that start?

You'd also need LAN support, job support, virtual terminal support, and 
probably other things 
too -- much of which might not be available during install.
