        No.  BINARY means that the data in the file is send *AS IS* without any conversion.

Subject: AS400 (FTP --> UNIX)

Hello all,
If I FTP an AS400 file that contains some packed data to a UNIX machine, and I use the BINARY ftp command in my script, will it be converted or readable on the UNIX as packed or upacked?
