Not sure about TriTrak specific printer, but I used lots of printronix with 3
paper paths before. I
think they were model 4300?

Definitely get the printer stand to go with it. It has all of the shelves
needed to store and feed
3 different forms without jamming.

The printers were reliable.

Switching between paper paths by the control panel is very easy. We never did
switching through
software control because you need the paper cutter feature. If you send the
switch paper command
either through front panel or sofware, and there are printed forms extending
out of the printer from
another paper path, they will back all the way out into the paper box. Then
the other forms will be
loaded. Then when you switch back, you will reprint over these forms again.
The cutter will
eliminate this by cutting any printed forms before switching.

The Doc on demand was excellent. My customers were using this printer to print
on forms that could
cost upwards of .25c a piece. They could print one and tear off very easily.

Same customers pricey forms were 4 part with a very heavy "oak tag" as final
part. No problems
feeding or making a readable copy on the final copy. Printing in higher speed
draft mode did not
make it to 4th part though.

We used internal IPDS boards on these printers so they would auto-config as
*IPDS printers. Very
easy to print barcodes, graphics, etc.

Yes. You need maintenance. Print heads will wear out. I'm pretty sure IBM
will do maintenance on
these printers. I'm not sure if the sub-contract out, but you still make one
call to one center no
matter what breaks.
