Please be aware that I am responding as a vendor.

One way to achieve what you want is to have a subset of AS/400 data in your
Oracle database and a subset of Oracle data on your AS/400. If this is the case
and if you are looking to integrate two applications with the same data, an
intelligent data replication and transformation tool that can move 'net change'
data both ways can help you.

You may also want to talk to Oracle about the AS400 Gateway product.
We use it for AS400 record retrieval.
