[##] if the dates are not ambigious to the users whats the QA Beef? >Rick Renkema >AS/400 Development Manager >+--- RICK I would venture to say the display of MMDDYY [ 6 digit format] is FINE. What is important is that the dates are clearly defined to the end user. [ Not ambiguous]. Some who have instituted the 8 digit format - - found they have had great social difficulties around the office. No conversation at the water fountain, people walk away at the coffee pot or have gotten a special reserved private time, Plus an exclusive private lunch area. Resistance to change and added work effort/time !! I know a lot of words to tell you that 8 digits is NOT always the best solution, NOT always accepted easily, nor implemented without infringing on real estate changes. Change here is usually best handled behind the screens. It is not super difficult and several tools will handle this for you. What is important is that you save and communicate the dates properly within, and between programs, applications systems, and other electronic trading partners in a clear a concise manner with regard to the century.
