Hi Catherine,

HiT ODBC/400 provides secure, flexible Windows DB2/400 access.
It's unique because it supports multiple OS/400 database servers, offers
security conscience administrators and developers read-only clients and
programmatic DSN support, and includes support for the broadest
connectivity, including native TCP/IP as well as APPC. Add to this that
HiT ODBC/400 is a fast, compact, client and you've got the basis for
optimal DB2/400 connectivity.

I think this can help you. It is available at www.hit.com

Subject: ODBC Driver for AS/400 (Crystal)

We would like to look into the possibility of getting an ODBC
driver for
the AS/400. We want to use it to be able to run Crystal reports
against
the data on the AS/400. Need the following information:

First we are on an AS/400 E45 running Operating System level 3.2
and we
are running our Application Software on JDE release 7.3 cum 6 (I
know that
we are really old - nobody snicker - we are a University and
slow to
change). Would it be possible to do the following:

        1. Get an ODBC driver to run on our AS/400 using our current
operating
        system.
        2. If we need to be at a higher level then what is the minnum
AS/400 box
and operating system we must be on.
        3. Is anyone using an ODBC driver.
        4. If you are using an ODBC driver then what product did you
purchase?
        5. How can I find out more about the ODBC drivers available and
the
        prices?
        6. If our system is too obsolete is there a possiblity of
dumping the data
to a file and running Crystal from that file.

If you can direct us to any sample web pages that would be very
handy.

PS. I do not know Crystal. We have a Crystal expert in our
company who
has been asked to extract our financial data from the AS/400.
