You might take a look at  Copy To Import File (CPYTOIMPF) command.  I think it's
only available as of V4R3 though.  It has options for Record delimiter, String
delimiter, and Field delimiter.

There is also a corresponding Copy From Import File (CPYFRMIMPF) command to go
the other way.
