This is a little off the topic, but I think contractors and consultants
should supply their own tools as far as a laptop and the software needed to
connect to the clients host and or do the development. You wouldn't hire a
contractor to come work on your house and have him ask you to borrow a
hammer? Professional consultants should have a laptop and ask to connect to
the clients network. I know that sometimes the client will not allow that
and may stick you with a dumb tube or an old PC, but at least you will have
your own tool (PC) to do any other tasks that must be performed.
Just my thoughts.

|Dean,
|----- Soap Box ---
|errr, ERRR, I need to take exception with one small point here! In
|spite of the fact that I also am a contractor, and that on occasion I
|find in-house staff that might be lacking in knowledge about the
|latest bells and whistles, on the whole I believe that it is unfair
|and unprofessional to draw a generalized conclusion about clients!
