>From the August 1996 edition of News/400:

Install the IBM AFP 240 printer driver. (240, not 300!)
For port, select FILE:

Get into your selected PC application.
File, Print, Printer setup, select IBM AFP 240, Setup, Output type, Medium
Overlay

CRTPF FILE(QTEMP/WORKF) RCDLEN(8201) LVLCHK(*NO)
Copy the PC generated file into the QDLS structure.
CPYFRMPCD FROMFLR(folder) TOFILE(QTEMP/WORKF) FROMDOC(MYOVL.PRN) TRNTBL(*NONE)
TRNFMT(*NOTEXT)
CRTOVL OVL(lib/myovl) FILE(QTEMP/WORKF) MBR(WORKF)

Then
either
CHGPRTF FILE(lib/prtfile) FRONTOVL(lib/myovl)
or
OVRPRTF FILE(prtfile) FRONTOVL(lib/myovl)

Quite Easily Done.

We do this all the time. We use it for AFP printouts and for our fax coverpage
for IBM's Fax/400.

Subject: Creating Overlays with AFP Print Driver

I've seen it posted before, and I know one of the list regulars has a web
page to describe this, but, how do I create a spool file overlay for a spool
file using the Client Access printer driver?

Thanks
