I don't know how effective routers are for using as firewalls, we chose not
to go this route. Instead, we built a sub $1000.00 PC, loaded Caldera's
OpenLinux for e-mail and web serving, and TIS's Firewall Tookit, better
known as FWTK for security. FWTK is a proxy server firewall and is
available for free download if your requirements meet their license
aggreement. They also have commercial apps available that are highly
regarded in the firewall community.
