TCP/IP w/Ethernet

Hi All,

I am having a problem with configuring TCP/IP over Ethernet.  I created
the line, and allowed autocreation of the device and controller.  The
line was created as follows:

 Name                   : ETHTCP
 Resource Name          : LIN041
 Online @ IPL           : *YES
 Vary on Wait           : *NOWAIT
 Network Controller     : ETHTCNET
 Local Adapter Addr     : *ADPT
 Exchange ID            : 056B0657
 Ethernet Standard      : *ALL
 Maximum Controllers    : 40
 Error Threshold                : *OFF
 Text:                  : TCP Ethernet Line

The controller is set to the following: 

 Name                   : ETHTCNET
 Category of Controller : *NET
 Attached Line          : ETHTCP
 Online @ IPL           : *NO
 
The device is set to the following:

 Name                   : ETHTCTCP
 Category of Device     : *NET
 Device Type            : *TCPIP
 Online @ IPL           : *NO 
 Attached Controller    : ETHTCNET

I have also configured an IP address using this Ethernet line
description.

My problem is that I cannot get the Ethernet line to vary on.  The line
immediately goes to a RCYPND status.  I get message, in message queue
QSYSOPR, CPA58EE - Line ETHTCP failed.  Probable cabling or hardware
problem.  The connection to the local area network failed.  
Part of the problem maybe that I am working remotely and am unable to
verify the cabling and things of that nature.  I suggestions to the
cause and resolution of this issue would be greatly appreciated.
