Hello Reinhold!

I do not know of a MUST REORG in DB/400.
The normal reason is to regain the space allocated to deleted
records. Having LARGE tables with a HIGH percentage of deleted
records is not only costly waste of disk space but can also
cause bad performance...
Another reason could be to get the records in a specific
order for faster processing; but I think this is not a SAP admin
issue...

We have only 12 GB of data at the moment.
But I do not think that a RgzPFM of the largest SAP table
will take more than 2 hours on a AS/400.

I recently did a small, selective reorg of the 8 tables with
the most deleted space reported by DB02. Just a few minutes
and the job was done...
... so watch out for your 'swiss cheese tables' and give them
a manual SbmJob Cmd(rgzpfm....) in your maintenance slot.
