You must create the save file on the remote 400 first using the AS/400 command 
CRTSAVF.  On most ftp clients you can execute the rcmd FTP subcommand to do so 
if you wish.

Hello,

When I FTP a *SAVF between AS/400's, when the file gets to the remote
system, it is converted into a regular PF. Is this a FTP restriction of
am I doing soemthing wrong?

I am using the following commands

type binary
put lib/filename remotelib/filename
