Wrong approach, me thinks.
The Trigger mechanism will present two buffers to the Trigger Program. A 
"before"
image, and an "After" image. Your program simply needs to update the proper
positions of the "After" buffer. There are offsets included to allow you to
position to the proper postion in the structure. If you need, I can send you a
copy of one of the triggers I have worked with.
