We use Fax/400 from IBM. Easy to set up. Can integrate it to your whim. Will
support faxing out from your 400 in one of three ways: this special PC, an
integrated FAX adapter or the IBM 7852-400 modem, which is now also recommended
for ECS. Overlays and the like are supported and very easy to create - use
your PC word processor if you like. The only problem is that some of the newer
400's don't support the integrated fax adapter so you must use one of the other
two solutions. The modem has a limitiation of only supporting *AFPDS spool
files. Therefore requires one line of CL - no big deal
OVRPRTF FILE(prtfile) DEVTYPE(*AFPDS)
Also, IBM throws in a driver for Client Access Windows/95/NT that will allow
any PC attached to the 400 to send out faxes by just printing to them. Window
pops up and they can change the phone number and cover page.

Subject: Fax from the AS/400 Software

Does anyone have experience with Fax software? I'm looking
for software that will take a report (spool file) and fax it to
a customer (from a list of customers).

Thanks in advance,
Marc ( marc@netpath.net )
