I appreciate you sharing this. It's nice to know that they've announced this
to the world.  When I submitted a PMR for this question, the gentleman who
answered my question replied that they have been testing the beta, but heard
nothing formal yet.

This freeware is written by someone who I have the highest esteem for.  He
is a major heavy contributor from the Win95-L and Win98-L discussion list.
His knowledge is *awesome.*  A kind, wonderful man (teacher) who goes by
grt.  This works on all of my machines and is much faster than Windows
shutdown w/less clicks.  It makes the same shutdown calls as Windows does,
but it is the *only* freeware/shareware utility that I've found that will
always work.  Enjoy!
