Cynthia Kovarik wrote to midrange-l: I am using D5250AH Adapter Handler and NetSoft NSTWINAX to connect WFW311 desktop to AS/400. Session will eventually connect but I receive TWINAX error [TWINX-83]: ERROR - VDTWINX/VDNSWQ IS NOT LOADED SUCCESSFULLY. I looked in WFW311 system.ini file and [386 enh] section does not contain any reference to VDTWINX.386 or VDNSWQ. Discovered they are Client Access files which I am not using. Has anyone run across this? How can I avoid error? Do I need VDTWINX and VDNSWQ? If so, anyone know website to download from (I have not had any luck surfing the web)? TIA Dear Cynthia, When IBM enhanced the Netsoft Router that was shipped with Client Access, to use virtual device drivers that could control a twinax adapter without requiring a DOS TSR file, they also installed a software switch into the application. If NSTWINAX.EXE was called, then the switch said do not invoke the VXD files. If NSTWINAX was not called, the switch would default to using the VXD files. It sounds like the software switch is not working for you. Maybe you could try loading D5250AH and NSTWINAX in a WINSTART.BAT file (place in C:\WINDOWS directory) to see if that would solve the problem. HTH /Paul -- Paul Tykodi, Technical Director Praim Inc.
