Dave, You might try the code/400 mail list, code400-l@borzak.com. We experienced similar problems trying to get code running. The manuals were useless and we don't have the paid support option. It took us over 100 hours to get it to run. The root of our problem was we were using a token ring card and our router did not support source based routing. I don't think I would hold out MS as the standard bearer for service. We spend a similar amount of time getting their products to run, and a lot more to keep them that way. IE: We just found a solution by chance to a nagging internet explorer problem, Microsoft support long ago told us no solution exists. Have you looked at the device entry? CHGICFDEVE FILE(EVFCICFF) PGMDEV(CODE). When I "roam" to a new device I have to change the device name. Don't know if this applies in your environment. Using CRTDUPOBJ as instructed in the getting started document. Here is what I am doing. Starting the TCP/IP Daemon on the PC. Then issuing the STRCODE on an AS/400 Session. Here is what happens. STRCODE RMTLOCNAME(DAVE) License information not retrieved. License information not retrieved. License information not retrieved. License information not retrieved. The job's CCSID value is changed from 65535 to 00037 while the STRCODE command is active. Device changed in file EVFCICFF in library STLLIB. Remote location DAVE for program device CODE was not found. Failed to establish communication session with the workstation. WRKLICINF shows the products as licensed. The STRCODE does not have the communication type parameter available even if using F9 to display all parms. I just dont want to use NS/Router. This thing is forcing my hands.... CODE/400 oops ADTSCS is turning out to be poorly marketed, supported, and dispatched. The six installation tapes had wrong labels on the outside. The publications did not ship saying they already sent it to me a while back... after complaining... it just arrived by Airborne ... support for the product you say... IBM says no support line no support not even for brand new off the box software ...did somebody say MS ... geez...wish IBM gets their act together before Redmond eats them for breakfast ... +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
