>>"Gee - if I had a nickel for every time I was fed that same story, and
"magically" the circuit starts working by itself although "nothing was
wrong" woth it !"<<

Some many moons ago when a "high-speed link" meant a 2400bps leased line, Bell
Canada constantly billed me for "User Error" callouts. We were convinced that
they were replacing components in the modem and not fessing up to it. Next
time we had a problem we disassembled the modem and either marked or noted the
serial numbers of every major component/card in the box. The service guy left
having told us that there was no hardware problem so it must have been user
error - so we opened the modem again and checked - two boards had been changed!!

Needless to say a very nasty letter was sent to Bell and large numbers of
dollars were suddenly credited to our account!
