My mistake. After re-reading your post, I see that the AS/400 is where you are running the TELNET client. I had assumed you where doing the telnet from your PC. The DSPVTMAP only works if you are signed on to the AS/400 from a VT-100 device such as telnet or an ascii VT-100 terminal. I have to use the TELNET client on the 400. Pressing Escape (which is the Attention key) brings up the Send TELNET Control menu. Attempting to use either DSPVTMAP or DSPKBDMAP after starting a TELNET session results in a message that the device is not the correct type. -----Original Message----- From: Bob Crothers [SMTP:bcrothers@netdirect.net] Sent: Monday, February 16, 1998 8:59 AM To: 'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: ATTENTION Key You can do an "Attention" key in TelNet with either a Ctrl-A or Escape A. Using the Telnet client that comes with Win95, you must follow it with an Enter key. To display the vt100 keyboard mapping (telnet), signon and use command DSPVTMAP. We are switching to a Frame Relay line and would like to use TELNET from our Ethernet-attached AS400. The mainframe runs a program called Teleview that uses the 3270 Attention key to switch between applications. You can access the 3270 Attention key by pressing the Attention key and taking option 5 on the 3270 Emulation menu. When you press the Attention key in TELNET, though, that option doesn't appear. Does anyone know of a way to actually be able to use the Attention key AS an attention key in TELNET on the 400? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- uucp +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
