You get the protection of AS/400 reliability, RAID-5, etc.  In the event of
the 'blue screen of death', instead of having the operator re-boot the
system, any user with access to the system (and proper authority) can vary
off the IPCS and vary it on, with an option 2 and an option 1.

Also, there are many firms in a highly distributed environment with no
technical personnel in remote offices.  These firms who want both AS/400
services and NT functions can get both from the same box.  If the proper PC
software, the NT console functions can be executed from a remote environment.

This was announced yesterday.

It requires the new IPCS, which has it's own NT console, keyboard and mouse.
