As always, "it depends". Just what the heck are you trying to accomplish
here, anyway?

Now I would tell the idea behind my question which I have been waiting
since the RPGLE have %ADDR function. Because I have a project to build a
RPG program which can make decisions, and users can dymamically set up the
rules. Therefore, I would like to know if is there any function it return
an object like

  ojbect = %ObjectOf('CUSTID')

OR a function it can return the pointer from the content of a field

pointer = %AddrByContent('CUSTID')

If I have either function, I can use the following statement to retrieve
the address of CUSTID by using a character field (FIELD001) which has the
content 'CUSTID'.

     CUSTIDPOINTER =  %ADDR(%ObjectOf(FIELD001))

or           CUSTIDPOINTER =   %AddrByContent(FIELD001)

And finally, these functions will be very helpful when you develop CGI
program. However, what I asked is already outdated. Never mind, thanks
anyway.
