On this one I am almost guilty as charged. I don't turn it off everywhere, but
almost all of my customers have complained about the performance adjustment.
It acts like a drunk driver - it reacts to situations that have already gone
by. As a result, the system response is either very good or very bad. And
usually within the same half hour. Of course, that is MY opinion. Mileage
probably varies.

The first time I saw PM/400 turn itself on, I reacted to it like Microsoft
asking if I wanted IE to be the default browser. No way! I have to admit.
Sometimes I react subjectively, so decisions are sometimes based upon gut
feelings. Guess I'll revisit this gut reaction, and try to take a more
objective perspective.
