Paul,

There is actually nothing special about LR -AND- RETURN.  If you exit
the program with LR on (with or without RT or RETRN), all storage is
freed and the program "goes away" at the end of the current RPG cycle.
If I remember right, this even happens if you use LR immediately
followed by RETRN.  Because LR is on, the cycle is allowed to complete.
If LR is off when the RETRN opcode is executed, an immediate return is
performed without freeing any storage.
