Hi, Carl

I don't know whether Personal Communications has an ODBC driver. I do know that you cannot install CA/400's driver by itself ;8~( <vbfrown>.

The 400 has servers already built into the OS. Any ODBC driver should use these servers. You just need to be sure to run

STRHOSTSVR *ALL

in your startup program. Watch for authority on the command-QPGMR is not enough. I don't remember details-more info on IBM's Web site, espec. http://www.as400.ibm.com/clientaccess

There's a buyer's guide in a News/Mart insert in News/400 of May, 1996. Companies like HiT Software 408 369-7290, Showcase 800 829-3555, StarWare 203 256-9250, & Wall Data 800 755-9255 have 32-bit drivers with very complete functionality, according to the chart in the guide. HiT's driver was reviewed this year in News/400, June issue, I think.

Cheers
