It IS a critical issue.  What do you mean by "next few years"?  

Personally (I work for IBM Rochester so I want to make sure you know
this is my personal opinion NOT IBM's),  I would not count on any
extension to the V3R2 life cycle - either a new IMPI (CISC) release or
extended service dates.  All of our efforts are directed to RISC
development.
