I have a client who needs to be able to send a spool file report from the AS400 to one of their customers via internet email. One solution I know will work, but is pretty low tech, is to copy the spool file to a DB file and then transfer the DB file to a PC with an email client and an internet ISP dial connection. The user could download the file, attach it to an email message and send it along. Pretty low tech, cumbersome and requires much user intervention. Given the new POP3 capabilities of the AS400, I was wondering if I could configure the AS400 to send the spool file using POP3 and a dial up point to point SLIP connection also available in V3R7. Anyone have any experience here or any other idea?? Regards, Carl Carl J.
