I've either spent 2-3 years with a company or 9-12 years.

Looks like I might split the difference with this one and get 4 in. I
always start the job thinking this will be the last change, but either
something better has come along (after several years at one place the
raises don't seem to keep up with the job market, not so much anymore as
closer to the top of pay scales) or the IT Dept is not stable (my last 3
job including this one) have been that way. We will be merging with
another company and the direction is Oracle on non-iSeries (4yrs), time
before was converting to SAP on non-iSeries (2yrs), and the other was
dieing "5250" market at emulation software company (9yrs).

I figure, rather than retire, I'll have to be a greater at Wal-Mart before
it's all over the way things are going! or learn how to make incorrect
change and say "You, want Fries with that?"

Just doesn't seem like companies or jobs last like the did in my father's
day.
