Lisa Thomas had some source 4/1/2005 for a recursive program... it would be
in the archives.

If you're running EPDM, I've got a BOM exploder that I can send you.

Subject: **HTML**[MAPICS-L] Bill Of Material Exploder!

I remember a bit back someone posted about a bill of material exploder,
sorry I forget who did.

What we are trying to do is establish baselines for the demands for raw
materials for our work centers so that we can calculate proper
"mathematical" kanbans for those work centers.

But here is what I am looking to do... (And it might be a tad
complicated)

Step 1:
Query the IMHIST file for SA transactions for items in a
specific
workcenter from date x to date y.
        Item SA Qty
        ITEMA 100

Step 2:
Using the data is Step 1, explode the bill of materials for the
items and compute the component requirements for the sold product
        Item Unit Per
Quantity
        ITEMA 1 100
                - L1SUB1 1 100
                - L1SUB2 .5
50
                        -L2SUB1 1 50
                        -L2SUB2 3 150
                -L1SUB3 2 200
                        -L2SUB1 5 1000
                                -L3SUB1 4 4000
                                -L3SUB2 1 1000

The report or the file would contain this information, from the top
level
all the way down to the 1st place that component is used.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
