Journals - Yes.. Forgot that one.. IFM uses them.. MAPICS has an arichtecture
for journals as well..

If you are accessing data from MAPICS from say, SQL server, you need to journal
your file to allow updates. If you are using the MAPICS workflow application,
you need journals to update files.

No referntial integretity is shipped with MAPICS.

DALE, R6 has a physical file called TRGMST.. This is all the files that
have triggers on them. You can also use to put your own triggers on...
Journaling is on a few files.. Never really paid much attention to it... I
believe some IFM are journaled
COM was written with SYNON... NO TOOL...
Not sure what you mean by referentail constraints!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you migrating to Mapics or to another software (SHUDDER). IF to
Mapics from what?

Was MAPICS XA developed in Synon? (The field names look familiar)

If yes to the last question, is the RPG source code pure Synon?

If yes to the last question, does MAPICS XA ship with some kind of
development tool, similar to what I recall JDEdwards World (green

        had?

        Preparing for the migration...
