There's two reasons it could be looking for files under the old CVS root, the
first is if the CVSROOT environment variable isn't set to the new root (which
is apparently not the case in your situation), and the seconds is if you are
trying to update/commit/diff/whatver files which were checked out of the old
root.

You'll have to check the files out from scratch.  If you have made any changes
to your working directory, you'll have to manually diff and patch your changes
to the new directory.  If that is the case, be sure you don't touch the files
in the CVS/ directories on your copy .. that confuses CVS very much.

If that's not the problem, there is some file that holds your passwords (from
'cvs login') and CVS roots.  you might want to delete that and re-login to any
CVS servers you have access to.
