Have you actually tested XMLSERVICE with, say, more than seven

I haven't tested for more than seven parameters Joe, but I see not mention in the docs of any such limit. I was more interested in the return values and I have tested that and it does work. Interestingly it is all written in RPG so perhaps they are using the MI built-ins or ... I don't know and haven't had the time to look at the source code yet. It is all on the Young i Professionals site - but they are down right now so I can't give you the full link. It is all in the wiki area.

If I read the dox correctly, they do it all through SQL, somehow building a stored procedure on the fly. I haven't had time to dig into the internals, but it looks very elegant. I could be entirely off base as well, though, so I'll see if I can check into it a little more in my copious free time.
