Just a SWAG but I would check your host file in windows.

I had a similar experience and someone had hijacked it and replace all my
reference to their IP address.

If your look in it and there is only one address.... just delete the file.

Then I would search the whole disk for 'host' and see if there are other
copies, and delete them also.

Happy Halloweenie,

Danny

I've been reading about this on other lists, and it's happening a lot. I
think what is happening is your help can't be found and is searching the
internet. And Network Solutions is redirecting localhost (and other
not-found sites) to actual sites (for a fee, of course. The bums.)

If you're using a proxy server, you probably somehow unchecked the box that
says to bypass the proxy for local addresses (like localhost and 127.0.0.1)

That's the first place I'd check, anyhow.

hth,

Phil

I somehow managed to click on something that installed a parasite in CODE
that redirects help to a get rich quick web site. When I try to open a
manual it first goes to localhost.net.au and quickly jumps to something
called netbreakthroughs.com.

Anyone know what I can edit to restore the link to the manuals? I've tried
scanning the registry, and scanning my hard drive for "localhost.net.au"
and
come up empty. I've also run Adaware and Spybot.

This is truly annoying, although I can always go to Info Center.

Thanks
